It’s not that you’re not good. It’s that this is what good looks like.
You’re already at the mountaintop 🏔️
It would shock you how many of my coaching conversations essentially boil down to this:
Me: I really want apples.
My coach: That’s great! You already have apples!
Me: No, I don’t. All I have are these round, red and green edible things that are crispy and crunchy and sweet.
My coach: Sorry, what do you think apples are?
Me: OH, those are APPLES??
It sounds ridiculous when you say it in terms of apples, of course.
But where are you doing this with the things you really want?
With success?
Doing a good job?
Being on track?
Knowing what you’re doing?
Where are you saying…
You: I really want to be successful.
Me: That’s great! You’re already successful!
You: No, I’m not. All I’ve done is gone to these great schools, worked at these great jobs, made my bosses super happy, and achieved amazing results. BUT I’m not sure what I want to do next.
Me: Sorry, what do you think success is?
You: OH, that’s SUCCESS??
Or saying…
You: I wish I knew what I was doing.
Me: That’s great! You already know what you’re doing!
You: No, I don’t. All I have is relevant experience I could draw on, resources I could tap into, and a starting hypothesis to inform my first step. BUT there’s so much I don’t know, and I could still totally screw this up.
Me: Sorry, what do you think “knowing what you’re doing” is?
You: OH, THAT’S what “knowing what you’re doing” is??
90% of the battle is won…
When you realize that you’re already above baseline.
90% of the battle is won…
When you realize that it’s not that you’re not good.
But rather that this is what good looks like – and you’re already there.
Notice what happens when you tap into that “I’m already at the top of the mountain, figuring out how to scale the last 10 feet” feeling…
Vs. that “I’m deep down in a ditch, dreaming about the mountain top” feeling.
What emotions do you feel, in each of those scenarios?
What action pathways light up in front of you, in when you feel that way?
What results do you think you’d create, if you followed each of those action pathways?
Really see the choice between these two different versions of you.
And what might happen if you inhabited Version 1 vs. Version 2 all day today.
Coaching is about helping my clients inhabit Version 1…
The best, calmest, most in-flow, grounded, brilliant version of themselves…
As deeply as possible. For as long as possible. In as many different situations possible.
Come get a taste of what this could feel like with a coffee chat ☕️
No strings attached.
It’s just an opportunity for us to discuss whatever’s on your mind, and I’ll be as helpful as I can be with some one-off coaching and brainstorming.
Or book a consult call, and let’s map out a full coaching engagement together.
Don’t just step into the best version of you for an hour.
Learn how to access them, on demand, in every area of your life, forever.
It’s a skill you can build as systematically as learning how to code or learning how to crochet 🤖 🧶
Come talk to me about how we can build it together.
What my clients have to say…
“I realized that you can always create a space of abundance, even when there's scarcity.
This process has allowed me to go so deep into myself and realize: Just be more yourself. You don’t have to change.
And that abundance helps me to make better, less fear-based decisions.”

I help high performers build their careers around flow.
This requires…
Internally, learning how to access your flow no matter what’s going on around you
Externally, designing a career strategy that angles your flow at a high-priority problem that someone will pay you good money to solve
Tactically, navigating the transition from the role you’re in to the role you want
Today’s article focused on #1.
For more writing on all 3 of these, check out my table of contents.
