I like to think about the distinction between Outcome results vs. Process results.
An Outcome result is when you get a fish š
You land a new job.
You make an important decision.
You raise money for your company.
You get your first 10 customers.
An Outcome result is when you cross a specific point-in-time threshold once.
A Process result is you when you learn how to fish š£
You learn how to decide what you want to do next, position yourself well, and talk to potential employers ā such that you can get the job you want anytime.
You learn how to weigh your options, how to generate new options when you donāt like whatās on the table, and how to trust your gut with confidence ā such that you can make important decisions anytime.
You learn how to make a pitch deck, talk to VCs, and control a fundraising conversation ā such that you can raise money anytime.
You learn how to talk to your audience, reach more people, and close a sale ā such that you can get more customers anytime.
A Process result is when you learn HOW to do something, so you can create repeatable Outcome results anytime you want.
Our brains tend to get overly focused on Outcome results
I JUST have to get this jobā¦and then Iāll be okay.
I JUST have to make this one decisionā¦and then Iāll be okay.
I JUST have to get some fundingā¦and then Iāll be okay.
I JUST have to get some customersā¦and then Iāll be okay.
Our brains really, really believe that once we get the outcome, weāll be SAFE.
If we can JUST have that one thing, we will have arrived.
Weāll be good. There wonāt be anything else to worry about.
But hereās the truthā
Outcomes donāt keep you safe š
Processes keep you safe š£
Safety isnāt getting that one job.
Safety is knowing how to get the job you want anytime you want.
Making this one decision wonāt make you worry-free.
Knowing how to make important decisions with confidence will make you worry-free.
āArrivingā isnāt getting your first 10 customers.
āArrivingā is knowing how to get as many customers as you want anytime you want.
Coaching gives you both:
The fish AND the skill of fishing š š£
When we work together, we will absolutely be going after the Outcome results you want.
Thatās why most people hire a coach! They donāt want a theoretical education. They want specific results.
AND, as we work toward that outcome, you will ALSO be learning and getting reps on a repeatable process.
You donāt just solve the problems you came to solve.
You also learn a problem-solving toolkit that you can use again and again for the rest of your life.
You walk away with an Outcome result AND a Process result.
I mean it quite literally when I say that coaching is an investment.
You pay ONCE for something that you can use again and again, that pays dividends on an ongoing basis, forever.
Whatās the fish of the hour, that you really want to catch? š
And whatās the skill of fishing that you really want to learn as you catch that one fish? š£
Come talk to me, and letās get started doing both :)
What my clients have to sayā¦
āCall me the eternal skeptic, but sometimes I wonder with coaches and therapists: Do they want you to be able to do this for yourself eventually, or do they want to keep you there forever?
And with Pooja, I really felt like I progressed with this skill set.
I can coach myself and get through challenges in my head because I have this skill set from what we worked on together.ā
