You can’t get to “I am __” from “I am not __” Mode
You can’t get to the outcome of “I’m on top of things”…
From the Mental Mode of “I’m NOT on top of things.”
You might work and work and work and work…
But your brain will keep finding evidence that you’re NOT on top of things yet.
And you’ll never get to “I’m on top of things.”
You can’t get to the outcome of “I’m qualified”…
From the Mental Mode of “I’m NOT qualified.”
You might rack up achievements and accomplishments and experience…
But your brain will keep finding evidence that you’re NOT qualified yet.
And you’ll never get to “I’m qualified.”
You can’t get to the outcome of “I’m doing a good job”…
From the Mental Mode of “I’m only doing an okay job.”
You might try and try and try and try…
But your brain will keep finding evidence that you’re only doing an okay job.
And you’ll never get to “I’m doing a good job.”
If you want to be on top of things…
You have to switch to “I’m on top of things” Mode FIRST.
If you want to be qualified…
You have to switch to “I’m qualified” Mode FIRST.
If you want to do a good job…
You have to switch to “I’m doing a good job” Mode FIRST.
Now sometimes, your brain auto-switches Modes on you.
Sometimes your brain just pops into “I’m on top of things” Mode, or “I’m qualified” Mode, or “I’m doing a good job” Mode, all by itself.
And this is great.
The Modes you want to be in exist in your brain — they’re just not activated all the time.
Your brain’s current pattern of auto-switching has gotten you to where you are today.
But you know what can take you even further?
Being able to make that Mental Mode switch on command…
Instead of waiting for your brain to arbitrarily do it for you.
That’s what I teach my clients how to do.
Because who you are when you’re in “I’m on top of things” Mode…
“I’m qualified” Mode…
“I’m doing a good job” Mode…
That’s the best version of you.
That’s the version of you that is unhampered by unnecessary fight-or-flight.
Unconstrained by old programming that keeps you small and scared.
Unbothered by outdated protective mechanisms whose usefulness expired long ago.
It’s the version of you that is clear and strong and bright and you down to your core.
That version of you can do anything :)
And that version of you feels so good to embody (even when you’re facing challenges and constraints).
Some might even say that fully becoming that version of you…
And accessing them in more and more areas of your life…
Is kind of the whole point of being alive.
